Sports Medicine
Pro athletes rely on us for sports-related injuries — and you should too.
Orthopedics International has been providing sports medicine care to both professional and weekend warrior athletes alike for over 30 years. We were the original Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners’ team physicians for more than 20 and 30 years, respectively. In addition, we continue to provide care for local universities, as well as high school athletes.
Our mission is to provide comprehensive care to all athletes so they can return to their desired level of sport quickly and safely. We are able to provide cutting-edge surgical, as well as nonsurgical care, to fulfill this goal.
Our physicians have expertise in treating the whole gamut of sports injuries. Shoulder injuries are very common in sports. Here at Orthopedics International we have formed a ShoulderWorks center in which the total focus is on the care of the shoulder. There is nothing else like it in the Northwest, where both the surgical and nonsurgical care fall under one clinic.
Most shoulder injuries can be treated with conservative care such as physical therapy and never require surgical intervention. Common maladies such as tennis elbow, Achilles tendonitis, jumper’s knee and tennis wrist are improved with our treatment regimens. We are also able to offer cutting-edge surgical techniques for conditions that do not respond to conservative therapy, such as ACL reconstruction.
We are comfortable in all techniques of ACL reconstruction. Minimally invasive techniques allow accelerated rehabilitation with the goal of returning patients quickly back to their sport. We also offer meniscus and cartilage repair, as well as platelet rich plasma injections to help with chronic tendonitis and inflammation often seen in sports injuries.
